Adding WhatsApp Flows to Yalo's Flow Builder

As Product Manager at Yalo, I led the project to add Meta's native WhatsApp Flows into our Flow Builder tool. Flow Builder is Yalo's special tool for creating advanced chat experiences on platforms like WhatsApp and Instagram.

In early 2023, I worked closely with Meta to add native WhatsApp features—like interactive fields, dropdown menus, and smooth in-app actions—directly into our Flow Builder. Our main goal was to make user experiences much better, simplify difficult tasks (like appointment scheduling for our client, Farmacias del Ahorro), and clearly increase user engagement.

After careful user research, we chose Farmacias del Ahorro as our first client for this. This choice fit Meta's rules for message volume and our need to handle many transactions. We ran a large-scale A/B test, carefully comparing how well traditional text messages performed against the new, interactive experience using native WhatsApp Flows. We also created and followed a specific launch plan to make sure the new features were used well and to get the best business results.

After launching, we constantly tracked performance and actively shared important findings with the Meta team. This helped us work together and improve things for the future. My team (from different departments) and I worked well together to create an easy-to-use appointment scheduling system, always focusing on what users needed and what was good for the business.

Key Results & Impact: Native WhatsApp Flow Project

This project led to a 160% increase in appointment bookings for Farmacias del Ahorro, clearly showing the big impact of using these native WhatsApp features. The solution we built can easily grow and be used for many different business needs and clients. This greatly increased the value of Yalo's platform and showed it was a worthwhile investment.
